Founded in 2002 by visionary Chartered Accountant Sanjeewa Weerakkody at the age of 23, Accounts Assist was created to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with reliable, efficient, and scalable financial solutions. Today, we are a thriving team of qualified and experienced professionals, providing outsourced accounting services, tax consulting, internal audits, transaction recording, and company secretarial support to businesses across Sri Lanka and international markets. Our deep industry knowledge spans manufacturing, retail, services, hospitality, and construction, allowing us to deliver practical insights and solutions tailored to each client.

Sanjeewa Weerakkody
Founder, Director and Principal Accountant
Sanjeewa Weerakkody is the Founder, Director and Principal Accountant of Accounts Assist, bringing over 25 years of diverse experience in accounting, banking, consulting and lecturing. A fellow member of both ACCA (UK) and CIMA (UK), he also holds memberships with CA Sri Lanka and the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. Sanjeewa trained with Ernst & Young and gained international exposure working as a financial accountant and tax adviser in the UK. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Colombo and is recognised as a leading lecturer in Sri Lanka for ACCA.
In 2007, he expanded his vision by launching Accounts Assist Solutions, a dedicated back-office support arm delivering high-quality outsourced accounting, tax and financial research services to clients worldwide. Sanjeewa leads the firm’s Audit and Assurance, as well as Tax Consultancy services, ensuring compliance, accuracy and strategic guidance for clients across industries. Under his leadership, the team continues to offer cost-effective, client-focused solutions backed by professionalism, global experience and a commitment to excellence in financial service delivery.
Krishni Balasubramaniam
Director
Krishni Balasubramaniam is a Director at Accounts Assist, leading our Bookkeeping & Accounting, as well as KPO and BPO service divisions. She also oversees the operations of our branch offices in Sri Lanka and Singapore. With over 16 years of experience in accounting, auditing and administrative leadership, Krishni delivers streamlined, high-quality outsourced financial solutions to clients both locally and internationally.
She is a member of several esteemed professional bodies, including CA Sri Lanka, ACCA (UK), CMA Sri Lanka and CIT Sri Lanka. A leading lecturer for ACCA in Sri Lanka, Krishni combines deep technical knowledge with a passion for developing talent. Her unique blend of practical leadership, academic excellence and international experience continues to shape the success and future direction of Accounts Assist.
D. K. B Pethiyagoda
Senior consultant
With over 50 years of experience in audit and assurance, D.K.B. Pethiyagoda is the Founder Partner of DKB Pethiyagoda & Co and serves as a senior consultant at Accounts Assist. His expertise spans a wide range of sectors including state and private banks, plantations, import/export businesses, public enterprises and NGOs. His seasoned insight plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s audit and regulatory service standards.
As a trusted industry veteran, Mr. Pethiyagoda brings deep-rooted expertise, regulatory knowledge and practical wisdom to every client engagement, ensuring that our assurance services meet the highest benchmarks of accuracy and integrity.
